NPA unveils crèche in Lagos Port to mark International Women’s Day

 


The Management of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) joined the rest of
the world in commemorating the International Women’s Day (IWD).

 The IWD is usually celebrated globally on March 8 of every year.
Highlight of the NPA celebration was the unveiling of a standard crèche
at the Lagos Premier Ports Apapa, a project it hopes to replicate in other Port
locations nation-wide, to assist nursing mothers concentrate better on the job.
The theme for this year’s celebration being “Balance for Better” also
showcases other areas of concern as “Think Equal, Build Smart and
Innovate for Change.”
The NPA believes it is call to expose women to greater opportunities.
The anchor during the year’s celebration has been identified as the
acceleration of progress for gender equality.
The NPA also sees the special day celebration as encouragement for
investment in gender-responsive social systems, and the building of services
and infrastructure that meet the needs of women and girls.
