WIMAfrica sets for conference on improving intra-continent trade

The Women In Maritime Africa (WIMAfrica)
will be holding its second Continental Conference and Annual General Meeting
with the theme “Trade Facilitation For African Integration: Prospects and
Challenges.”

The organisers disclosed that the event
which is scheduled for Oct. 29-30
th 2018 at the Eko Hotel and
Suites, Lagos, would have the Honourable Minister of Transportation, Rotimi
Amaechi, as Chief Host of the day.


Co-Hosts for the event are the Honourable
Minister for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika and the Honourable Minister of State
for Trade and Investment, Hajia Aisha Abubakar.
Expected as special guests of honour are
the Secretary General of the IMO, Kitock Lim, and the Chairperson of the
African Union, HE Paul Kogame.

Other special invited guests include Her
Excellency, Wife of The President of Nigeria, Hajia Aisha Muhammadu Buhari; Her
Excellency, First Lady of Angola, Ana Afonso Dias Lourenca, and the Dr.
Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, who is the Founder, WIMAFRICA and Minister in the Presidency,
Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Federal Republic of South Africa.

WIMAfrica presently
has membership across 22 African countries, Nigeria inclusive. And a key
objective of the organisation is to promote cooperation and collaboration
between national, regional and international organisations for the advancement of
African women in the maritime sector.
