More female seafarers would be getting jobs on board vessels managed by Sea Shepherd on the West African Coast.
Continental President of African Women in Shipping (WIMAfrica), Jean Chiazor Anishere, disclosed in a chat that the gesture developed from a regular relationship and the desire of Sea Shepherd to be supportive.

“It is an exciting development as Seas Shepherd has given us an undertaking to ensure that at least one female seafarer will be recruited on board all their vessels on the West African Coast, going forward.”

Sea Shepherd had earlier in 2020 given a job opportunity to young Sierra Leonean female seafarer, Regina Conteh-Khali.

For Conteh-Khali, it was an opportunity to fulfill her dreams to becoming the first female captain in her country.
