Trapped: Customs intercepts ambulance with N2.8m worth of tramadol


The Nigeria Customs Service
(NCS), Apapa Command,on Wednesday made public an arrest and  interception of an ambulance smuggling 10 cartons of 225 milligrammes (mg) of Tramadol in Apapa Port.

The Customs Area Controller at Apapa Port,
Muhammad Abba-Kura, who paraded the vehicle and the drugs, said
the ambulance, with registration number LND605XW, was intercepted with the
drugs worth about N2.8 million  in its attempt to smuggle to smuggle the illicit consignment out of the port, in
pretense  of an
emergency.

The CAC told newsmen that  two suspects who were arrested in connection with the act were being  interrogated as investigations continue to unmask the perpetrators behind the dishonourable act.
