TANTOLOUN Productions showcases new dance during Cotonou Art Residency

The TANTOLOUN Productions would be having a new dance creation titled ‘To-Be’ as it begins a two-week art residency at the Multicorps Choreographic Center, in Cotonou, the capital city of Benin Republic.

The programme features artist Lucrece Sidoine Atchade, from WALO Dance Company, Benin Republic, and Nigerian artists Esther Essien, Goodluck Babatunde and Oyebisi Tosin Akinboye from TANTOLOUN Productions.

The participating artists would be working on the new creation, while crew from TANTOLOUN Productions would train 10 Beninese Dancers in a workshop during the period.

The dance form ‘To-Be' is essentially about determination, the act and willingness to be who you are meant to be, and not afraid of any setback.

It is a path to completeness, regardless of what society says, yet, being mindful not to loss control, holding on to guidance, sacrifice, discipline and the rigorous process of becoming.
The dance form ‘to-be’ would be performed in Cotonou, Benin Republic on April 29th, 2019.

We are intercessors intervening and travailing people’s pains and frustrations of becoming.
This collaboration reflects our goal to use this experience and performance as a springboard for other Projects across borders, and to attract new and diverse audience to our space. We couldn’t be more excited to partner with WALO Dance Company on an ongoing basis to see what amazing moments will grow at the intersection of our Arts.
