Buhari appoints retired Army Colonel as new Customs Comptroller-General

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the
appointment of Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd.) as the new Comptroller-General of
the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) effectively from Aug. 27, 2015.

Ali replaces Alhaji Dikko Abdullahi who retired
from the service on Aug. 18.
The new Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC) holds Bachelor’s
and Master’s degrees in Criminology.

He was military administrator of Kaduna State
from 1996 to 1998 under the regime of late General Sanni Abacha.

It would be recalled that Abdullahi voluntarily resigned
from the service after six years as CGC.

He handed over to the Deputy Comptroller-General,
Finance, Administration and Technical Service (FAYS), Mr John Atte, who took
charge of the service until Ali’s appointment.

A statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser
(Media & Publicity), Femi Adesina also named Kure Martin Abeshi as the new
Comptroller-General, Nigerian Immigration Service.

Adesina said Abeshi hails from Nasarawa State. He
joined the Nigerian Immigration Service in 1989 as an Assistant Comptroller.
His educational qualifications include a Master’s
Degree in Public Administration.
