CSR: APM Terminals showers less privileged with food, other supplies

APM
Terminals Apapa Limited has donated food items to various orphanages and homes
for the less privileged across Lagos.
The
items were recently distributed to the orphanages and homes by the staff
of the company.
The
Pacelly School for the Blind, Surulere; the Heart of Gold Children’s Hospice,
Surulere; Modupe Cole Memorial Child Care and Treatment Home for the Mentally
and Physically Challenged Children, Yaba; and Little Saints Orphanage, Akowonjo
benefitted from the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Other
beneficiaries include Berth Torrey Home for Mentally- Challenged Children,
Festac Town; Arrow of God Orphanage, Obadore; and So-Said Charity Homes in
Oregie-Ajegunle and Okota.

At
the Pacelly School for the Blind, Rev. Sister Anastasia who received the APM
Terminals staff on behalf of the School Principal, expressed appreciation to
the company for identifying with, and providing succour to the needy.
“Your
support and kindness towards the needy can never be underestimated. What you
have presented to us today shows that the children will never be hungry again.
They will never lack and may the good Lord provide for you and meet you at your
point of needs,” she said.
Leader
of the APM Terminals team, Uduak Ekpo, said that the donations were done in
line with the company’s goal of giving back to the society and supporting the
needy.
Also,
at the Heart of Gold Children’s Hospice, representative of the Convener of the
Home, Omowunmi Oluwatosin, expressed deep appreciation to APM Terminals.
While
promising to make judicious use of the donated items, Oluwatosin said the gifts
were coming at “the most appropriate time”.
She
said, “Your kind gesture towards this home is appreciated and we hope to
maintain a cordial relationship with your company. Please relay our sincere
appreciation to the management.”
All
the homes visited, appreciated the company for the items they got.
