ABOUT
A
Slice Of Life is the meeting point for interaction among people who share their
diverse experiences of life in a close-knit community. At different times,
life’s experiences may be pleasant or otherwise, and whatever the situation may
be, people take out a portion from the whole.
Sharing experiences help people pull through life and that is what I
desire to achieve.
On this blog, I get involved with this
social community discussing my love for the arts, culture, books, happenings in
society and issues that shape relationships and family life.
You can advertise in different ways on my
blog; either direct advert placement, promotions, PR articles or event
coverage. Kindly contact me via e-mail on debby@onepageafrica.com
Guest writers and other bloggers are
welcome to share their write-ups on this platform. You can send us your short stories, share
excerpts of your book with readers as well. Please communicate your interest to
me via an e-mail.
The curator
On this blog, I go by the pen name Debby
‘Baro. Both names were coined from
‘Deborah and Obaro, actually from within my family and my real name is Afoke
Hope Orivri. I write as a journalist for a local newspaper in Lagos, and
work as curator of the blog, A Slice Of Life.
I was born, raised and educated in the lively city of Lagos. I have
essentially lived all my life in Lagos, except for the short period of one year
that I spent as a corper in
Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
I hold a Master’s degree in Mass
Communication from the University of Lagos. In the last 10years, I have worked
in various capacities as a PR, Research and Media expert. I love to write and
chat. Story-telling is a part of my fancy and I still enjoy listening to
folktales whenever I have the opportunity. I love to cook local dishes and I
love my food hot and spiced with pepper. For me, life is a journey best enjoyed
in company of people who believe in you and give you a voice to express your
inner self. I am blessed with a
wonderful family.
