Intels sails on in success mode … Records top scores in ABS QE audit


Intels Nigeria Limited relentlessly stays on top of its game operations, rendering sterling services and earning top scores in the examinations affirming these, going by feelers from the leading logistics services provider.

It was learnt that Intels has again recorded another successful conclusion of the second Integrated Management System (IMS) (ISO 9001:2008, OHSAS 18001:2007 and ISO 14001:2004) Surveillance Audit Exercise by ABS Quality Evaluations Inc. (ABS QE), a global leading certification body.
The ABS Group, through its operating subsidiaries, provides technical services to support safe, reliable and high-performance assets and operations.
Intels is part of The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), a leading marine and offshore classification society.
Upon the company’s IMS certification in 2013, Intels has continued to work with ABS QE to assure, strengthen and continually improve on business, system, people and supply chain performances, while providing integrated logistics support services to the onshore/offshore oil and gas industries within the oil service centres.
The audit exercise lasted for nine days, commencing on January 25, 2016, and its highpoint was at the closing meet between the ABS QE Auditors and Intels top management, where the latter was presented with the audit report with zero non-conformities observed throughout the audit exercise.
The audit covered the verification of the IMS conformance, company’s documented management system, and verification of compliance to applicable contractual, legal and regulatory requirements and evaluation of the effectiveness of Intels management system in line with meeting specified objectives.

Also, there were 10 identified areas for potential improvements and numerous areas of commendations, particularly in the areas of infrastructure development, equipment maintenance rates and several performing areas within quality, health, safety and environment units.
Intels recorded  a Lost Time Injury Free Operation throughout the 2015 health safety and environment (HSE) year.
In his closing remarks, Intels General Manager, Mr  Sascha Kuehl, reassured the auditors that the company will continually drive to build on its achievements, bearing in mind the identified areas for potential improvement and the dedication to continue to maintain the company’s competitive advantage, while rendering quality services to Nigeria’s largest oil and gas service centres.

Intels has stated that it is looking forward to 2017 when the next full certification to ISO 9001:2015 is due.

ABS QE has successfully been accredited by ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB) to provide certification to ISO 9001:2015.
There is presently a transition period, starting December 2015, from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015.
