The Public Relations Officer of the NCS, Mr Wale Adeniyi, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Friday.
``The officers extorted the money during the outward clearance of the passenger on Emirates Airline flight.
``The three officers have been suspended from service. They are all Assistant Superintendents of Customs and working with Currency Declaration Desk at the airport.
``When interrogated, they agreed that they collected the money and offered to refund it to the passenger’’, Adeniyi said.
He said the Comptroller-General of Customs, Dikko Abdullahi, expressed regrets with the involvement of some officers in various illegal acts.

According to him, the comptroller general has warned that the service will not tolerate sharp practices that could tarnish the good image of the service.
